Abstracts

When I approach an abstract painting there’s a certain excitement as I am about to journey into the unknown. 

Typically, I have no idea what I am going to do when I start an abstract work. I just start making marks, and let what evolves pull me towards whatever is next. I don’t always end up loving where I’ve gone, and might paint over what I have in order to start fresh and try a different path to that unknown destination.
