INTERSECT

Part of the definition of the word is to cross, crisscross, converge, meet.

In this show, and in my work in general, this is a constant running theme as my landscape and representational brain converge with my abstract brain. The two certainly influence each other. As suggested in the diagonally divided image of the Pink House, and the abstract, these two, if you blur your eyes, can easily become one.

And that is what I am trying to do as I jockey back and forth on this ever-shifting creative terrain; become one. I feel that I MUST do both, AND there is always the pull while working on one style, to consider, dabble in, and get back to the other.

I hope that the viewer can walk away with the notion that these two worlds do converge, have converged, are converging, as I traverse the thin line between the two, balancing and falling, climbing up again, and eventually surrendering to it all.
