Mindscape 3

This piece exists in some dream realm I must have visited, yet while there, I didn’t know where I was or what was happening. The winged figure in the left foreground, tries to protect some smaller beings, shepherding them to someplace safe (?) while whatever madness ensues outside. Where did they come from? What is their relationship to what takes place all around them?
